Jeg beskriver mig selv som
I picture myself as a wanderer who dreams of discovering the world on a bicycle and share unprecedented adventures. I started cycling in Portugal when going for some relaxed riverside rides and commuting to university, but gradually started extending those adventures a bit further. The passion for ciclotourism came to a new level at the age of 23 and it was taken to the next level when moving to Switzerland, where the stunning beauty of the mountainous landscapes conquered my soul.
My riding style covers a wide spectrum of philosophies, from ultracycling challenges and long-distance trips to relaxed rides for the pleasure of getting to know new places or simply looking to the same landscape with different eyes while sharing with others. I must confess I tend to privilege Alpine rides with long passes over very long flat ones, but at the same time prefer long climbs to those short nail-biting very steep ones.
Anyway, being able to witness the way natural landscape changes throughout the territory and celebrate diversity is probably what really motivates me on cycling, together with the ability of overcoming my own limits and setting new goals while stumbling against jaw-dropping landscapes.
I would like to ride across continents in the short/medium turn, after I finish my PhD. The Americas sound particularly appealing, namely the transcontinental ride across Canada and a mountainous North-South journey down the Andes in Argentina and Chile, but also Central Asia and its breathtaking landscapes. In Europe, I absolutely want to explore the whole pr Norway, the volcanic secrets of Iceland and the culturally-stimulating volcanic atmosphere. Still, there is so much left to explore in the Alps that I wouldn't mind to leave around the area for the rest of my days!
Up to now, I've been more of a solo rider, but few things have made me as happy as sharing such adventures with meaningful people in my life. Indeed, sharing my favourite Swiss landscapes with my friends has been one of the best feelings I've come up to over the past years. I really enjoy being surrounded by people who see the world in a different way from mine and can enrich my own experience by revealing me a different perspective of reality. That is indeed something I would always look for in a cycling and life partner: the ability to see things differently and inspire me with her example.
I don't have any prescribed features I would like to find in someone to share the road of life, just seek the same willingness to enjoy every single bit of it with a smile on her face, taking advantage of every single moment for what it has to offer us in itself. In the end, I just look for someone passionate about riding a bike sho wants to see the world and team up to defeat our fears towards the superation of our boundaries. We don't need to go fast, we don't need to go far, we don't even need to ride for that long: it's the feeling of conquest when fulfiling our dreams when riding a bike together that counts.
In the end of the day, I dream of sharing such moments with someone whose attitude towards life lits that sparkle which later develops into deep meaningful love while being sensitive to the essence of my personality herself. And if it doesn't happen, it's fine! For sure a well-cultivated friendship with an inspiring cyclist will be a step forward on my quest towards happiness.
