I’m a fit, active sportswoman who has come into cycling about five years ago. I’m not wired like most women. I’m no better, no worse but I am different and I know it. I like to get out of my comfort zone at least once a year and go wild camping. I spent six weeks in the Californian desert last year and would have gone back this year if not for COVID. Sport has governed my life and I have no regrets about that. I’ve had a go at most things but my main sports have been competitive powerlifting, running (decent club standard), table tennis (ex international) and ultra distance walking- mainly abroad with my one man tent, sleeping bag and stove.
I will always keep in shape. There is no other way.
Outside of sport I love art galleries, the theatre, mooching around cities and I love a good, independent coffee shop. I enjoy the odd beach holiday to do a bit of snorkelling and sun soaking - especially on the Greek Islands. Love visiting the Lakes and just meandering around my own play pen, the North Yorkshire Moors.
I enjoy visiting little country pubs for an early evening tipple and maybe a meal.
I have a 32 year old son who lives down south and works in the city. He enjoys putting me through my paces when he visits but I think he gets the numbers in my age mixed up!
